Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. Learn how Zetrr protects your data and respects your privacy while analyzing Instagram content.

🛡️ Privacy Overview

TL;DR: Zetrr processes everything locally in your browser. We don't collect, store, or share any of your personal data or Instagram activity. Zero data leaves your device.

This Privacy Policy explains how Zetrr ("we," "our," or "us") handles information when you use our Chrome extension. Last updated: January 2025

🚫 Data We Don't Collect

Zetrr is designed with privacy at its core. We do not collect:

  • Personal Information: No names, email addresses, or contact details
  • Instagram Credentials: No usernames, passwords, or login information
  • Browsing Activity: No tracking of websites you visit
  • Usage Analytics: No data about how you use the extension
  • Instagram Data: Posts, likes, comments, or follower information
  • Device Information: No device IDs, IP addresses, or system details

Simply put: We don't know who you are or what you're analyzing.

⚡ How Local Processing Works

Zetrr operates entirely within your browser:

  • Local Analysis: All Instagram data processing happens on your device
  • No Server Communication: The extension doesn't send data to external servers
  • Browser-Only Storage: Temporary data stays in your browser's memory during analysis
  • Your Control: You decide what data to export and where to save it

When you analyze an Instagram profile, the extension reads the publicly available data directly from Instagram's website and processes it locally. Nothing is transmitted to us or any third party.

🔐 Chrome Extension Permissions

Zetrr requires specific Chrome permissions to function. Here's what each permission does:

Active Tab Permission

Why we need it: To read Instagram page content when you're analyzing a profile

What it does: Allows the extension to access the current Instagram tab's data

What it doesn't do: Cannot access other tabs or your browsing history

Storage Permission

Why we need it: To temporarily store analysis results in your browser

What it does: Saves processed data locally during your session

What it doesn't do: Data never leaves your device or syncs anywhere

🤝 Third-Party Services

Zetrr doesn't integrate with any third-party services for data collection or analytics. However:

  • Instagram: The extension reads publicly available data from Instagram.com (same data you see when browsing)
  • Chrome Web Store: Google may collect extension usage statistics through the Chrome Web Store
  • No Analytics: We don't use Google Analytics, tracking pixels, or similar services

🔒 Data Security

Since all processing happens locally:

  • No Data Transmission: Nothing is sent over the internet to our servers
  • Browser Security: Your data benefits from Chrome's built-in security features
  • Temporary Storage: Analysis data is cleared when you close your browser
  • User Control: You control what data to export and where to save it

✊ Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, there's no personal information to access, modify, or delete. However, you have complete control:

  • Uninstall Anytime: Remove the extension from Chrome settings
  • Clear Local Data: Clear browser data to remove any temporary files
  • No Account Required: Use Zetrr without creating any accounts
  • Export Control: Choose what data to export and where to store it

🔄 Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in the extension or legal requirements. When we do:

  • Changes will be posted on this page
  • The "Last updated" date will be revised
  • Significant changes may be communicated through the Chrome Web Store

We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
