Entry rules decide which comments go into the draw. You set them in the Entry Rules step, after you choose your post.
The rule that always applies#
Comment on the post is always required. Only top-level comments can become entries. Replies to other comments don't count.
Rules you can add#
- Required hashtag: the comment must include this exact hashtag, such as #giveaway. It must be the whole tag, so #giveaway doesn't match #giveaways. Capital letters don't matter.
- Required @mention: the comment must mention this account, such as your brand partner.
- Blocked accounts: usernames that can't win. Separate them with commas or new lines.
Under Advanced Settings:
- Minimum @mentions: how many accounts each comment must tag, from 0 to 20. Use this for "tag two friends" giveaways.
- Remove duplicate entries: counts one entry per account. It's off by default.
Configured entry filters shows how many rules you've set. Zetrr applies them automatically when it reads the comments.
Duplicate entries#
With Remove duplicate entries off, every comment that meets your rules is a separate entry. Someone who comments five times has five chances. Turn it on so each account counts once, however often they comment.
Pick whichever matches the rules you announced to your followers.
What rules can't do#
Giveaways can only check what's written in the comment. It can't check follows, likes, shares or story reposts, and it doesn't detect fake accounts. An @mention is counted from the text, so Zetrr can't tell whether a tagged friend is a real person. See What Giveaways can and can't check.
If nobody qualifies#
If no comment matches, Zetrr shows No eligible entries and tells you how many comments it read. Click BACK TO SETUP, loosen the hashtag, mention or minimum-mentions rules, and run it again.
