How Zetrr connects to Instagram

In short

Only Zetrr Automation and Zetrr Giveaways connect to Instagram. They use Instagram’s official login, so Zetrr never asks for your Instagram password. You need an Instagram professional account (Creator or Business) but no Facebook Page. Zetrr is a verified Meta Tech Provider, and you can disconnect at any time.

Which apps use Instagram#

Automation and Giveaways are the only Zetrr apps that connect to Instagram. Planner, BioLink, Invoice, Forms and Opener don't need a connection. Automation and Giveaways each connect on their own, from a Connect Instagram button inside the app.

What you need#

  • An Instagram professional account: Creator or Business. A personal account must be switched to a professional account in the Instagram app first.
  • No Facebook Page. You connect your Instagram account directly.
  • An account you own or are allowed to manage.

Which Instagram accounts work with Automation? goes into more detail.

How connecting works#

  1. In Automation or Giveaways, select Connect Instagram.
  2. Instagram's own login page opens. Sign in there. Your password goes to Instagram, never to Zetrr.
  3. Review the permissions Instagram shows and allow them.
  4. You're sent back to Zetrr, connected.

Step-by-step help: Connect your Instagram account.

What Zetrr can access#

Zetrr asks only for what each feature needs:

  • Automation reads your profile and posts (so you can choose which posts a rule applies to), reads and replies to comments, and sends DMs and reads the DMs sent to you (for features such as Collabs).

Zetrr doesn't keep the DMs people send you: what a message says is deleted within 24 hours, once your automations have had the chance to answer. It never sells this data, uses it for advertising or uses it to train AI.

  • Giveaways reads your profile and the comments on the post you pick, so it can list entrants and draw winners.

Your Instagram access tokens are encrypted at rest. Zetrr doesn't ask for permission to publish posts.

Working within Instagram's rules#

Zetrr keeps sending under the limits Meta documents, spreads messages through the hour instead of sending them in bursts, and pauses on its own if Instagram signals a limit. Anyone can stop your automated messages by replying STOP. Read How Zetrr keeps your Instagram account safe.

Disconnecting#

Each app gives you two ways to disconnect (in Automation, only the workspace owner can do it):

  • Disconnect stops Zetrr's access to the account. In Automation, your automations, message history and analytics stay saved, so you can reconnect later and pick up where you left off.
  • To erase the data as well, use Delete connection & data in Automation or Disconnect & Delete in Giveaways. This can't be undone.

See Pause, stop or disconnect Automation.

Questions

Do I need a Facebook Page to connect Instagram?

No. Connect your Instagram professional account directly through Instagram’s login. You don’t need to link a Facebook Page.

Will Zetrr post on my Instagram?

Zetrr only does what you set up: the DMs and public comment replies you write in Automation and, if you turn on announcements, a reply to the winner’s comment in Giveaways. It doesn’t publish posts.

Can I connect more than one Instagram account?

Automation connects one Instagram account per workspace. To automate another account, create another workspace for it.
