What you need#
The Instagram account for Automation must be a professional account. You need:
- An Instagram professional account: a Creator account or a Business account.
- A Zetrr account and a workspace to connect it to. See Create your Zetrr account.
That’s all. You don’t need a Facebook Page, and you don’t need to link one.
If you have a personal account#
Personal Instagram accounts can’t be connected. Switch the account to a Creator or Business account in the Instagram app first, then connect it to Zetrr.
If you try with a personal account, Zetrr shows: “No Instagram professional account was found on that login. Switch to a Creator or Business account and retry.”
How the connection works#
Zetrr is a verified Meta Tech Provider. It connects through Instagram’s official login (the Instagram API with Instagram Login), so you sign in on Instagram’s own page and Zetrr never sees your password.
When you connect, you allow three permissions:
instagram_business_basic: your profile basics, such as your username.instagram_business_manage_messages: sending and reading DMs for your automations.instagram_business_manage_comments: reading comments and posting your public replies.
You can see them any time in Automation under Settings → Meta Permissions in Use.
One workspace at a time#
An Instagram account can be active in one Zetrr workspace at a time. If you connect it from a different workspace, it moves there, and the automations in the first workspace pause until it’s reconnected there.
Who can connect#
Only the workspace owner can connect a first account or switch to a different one. A teammate with edit access to Automations can log the same account back in if it needs a reconnect. See Roles and per-app access.
For what Automation costs, see Pricing.
