To create an invoice, you need a completed business profile first. If you haven't done that yet, start with Set up your business details.
Create the invoice#
- In Zetrr Invoice, go to Invoices and click Create new.
- Choose Create invoice.
- Pick a look in the Invoice theme card at the top, or keep Classic. See Choose an invoice design.
- Under Invoice Details, check the Issue Date and Due Date. The due date starts from your default due days.
- Under Bill To, start typing a client's name to find a saved client. For a new client, type their details and click Save as client to reuse them later.
- Add the client's address. If the client is GST registered, fill in Client GSTIN, if registered.
- Under What you did, describe the work and enter the Qty and Rate. Zetrr works out each line's amount.
- Click Add another item for each extra line.
- Under Tax & Discount, tick Apply GST if you charge GST, and choose a Discount Type: None, Percentage or Fixed Amount.
- Check Notes & Terms, Payment details and Signature, then click Save.
The Preview beside the form shows exactly what your client will see, in the PDF and on the shared link.
Saving and undo#
Once your invoice has some real content, Zetrr saves it as a draft and keeps saving as you type. The label at the top shows Saving..., Saved or Unsaved changes. Use Undo and Redo to step back and forward through your edits.
If you edit the same invoice in two tabs, or a teammate changes it, Zetrr won't silently overwrite either version. It tells you the invoice Changed somewhere else, and you press Save to apply your version.
When the invoice gets its number#
A draft has no number yet. The list shows Draft — number pending and Assigned when issued. The number is assigned and locked the first time you:
- download the PDF,
- generate a public link, or
- change the status to Sent or Mark as paid.
So check the details before you share. Invoice numbers and financial years explains the format and how to change it.
Send it to your client#
Zetrr doesn't email invoices. Share the link or PDF yourself by email, WhatsApp or DM: see Share an invoice as a link or PDF. When the money arrives, mark the invoice as paid.
