Zetrr Invoice keeps track of who has paid. It doesn't collect or process payments itself: your client pays you directly, and you record it here.
Mark an invoice as paid#
- Open the invoice, or find it on the Invoices list.
- Click its status badge (Change invoice status).
- Choose Mark as paid.
- In Mark this invoice as paid?, click Mark as paid.
Zetrr records the full invoice amount as received, sets the balance to zero and dates the payment today, in your own time zone. If the invoice didn't have a number yet, it gets one now.
What each status means#
- Draft: not issued yet, with no invoice number.
- Sent: you've sent it to the client. Choosing it creates a public link if there isn't one.
- Viewed: set automatically when someone opens the link of a Sent invoice.
- Paid: the full amount is recorded as received.
- Overdue: shown automatically when a Sent or Viewed invoice passes its due date unpaid. You don't choose it.
- Cancelled: kept in your list for your records, but counted as zero in every total.
You choose Draft, Sent, Mark as paid or Cancelled. Only an issued invoice can be cancelled; delete a draft instead.
Undo a payment#
If you marked an invoice as paid by mistake, choose another status. Zetrr asks Change this paid invoice? because this clears the recorded payment and restores the full outstanding balance.
Editing a paid invoice#
If you edit a paid invoice so its total goes up, it moves back to Sent, because the client now owes the difference. Zetrr won't let you lower the total below the amount already recorded as paid.
Where payments show up#
The Invoices list shows Total Billed, Received, Pending and Overdue. Use the status tabs, such as Paid or Overdue, to filter the list. For money in and out over a month or a year, see See what you earned by month.
