What you’ll see#
- A banner on the Dashboard and in Settings: “Reconnect your Instagram. Instagram needs you to renew access to this account.”
- An email and an app notification saying your Instagram automations need a reconnect, and a reminder a day later if it’s still disconnected.
- In Settings, Reconnect required beside your account.
Reconnect#
- Open Zetrr Automation.
- Select Reconnect Instagram on the banner, or in Settings.
- Sign in on Instagram’s login page with the same Instagram account.
- Allow the permissions.
Zetrr kept your automations, message history and leads, and they pick up where they left off.
Why it happens#
Instagram decides when a login ends, for example after a password change or a security check on your account. Zetrr asks Instagram to confirm before it shows Reconnect, so a brief Instagram hiccup doesn’t disconnect you.
You’ll also be asked to connect again when:
- Zetrr was removed from the account inside Instagram.
- The account was connected from another Zetrr workspace. It can only be active in one workspace at a time.
- Instagram isn’t answering for the account. Open the Instagram app, check it’s still a Business or Creator account, then reconnect.
Messages while you were away#
Zetrr sends nothing while the account is disconnected. If Instagram ended the connection, Zetrr keeps the button taps, DMs and story replies that arrive in the meantime, and answers them once you reconnect, as long as you’re back within Instagram’s 24-hour reply window. Zetrr honours a STOP straight away.
After you reconnect, Zetrr reads recent comments again from Instagram. For older ones, use Recover missed DMs, which reaches back 7 days. See Why a DM wasn’t sent.
If you’re a teammate#
A teammate who can edit Automations can log the same Instagram account back in. Only the workspace owner can connect a different account. If you see “Ask the workspace owner to reconnect Instagram.”, the owner needs to do it.
