A comment automation can reply publicly to comments as well as sending the DM.
Turn it on#
- Open your comment automation in Automations.
- Turn on Public comment reply. Zetrr fills in four ready-made replies.
- Edit them, or select Add public reply to add more, up to six.
- Under Stop public replies after, choose 50, 200, 400 or 800.
- Select Save changes.
New comment automations start with Public comment reply on.
When the reply is posted#
Zetrr posts the public reply only after the person’s DM was accepted by Instagram, so a reply such as “Check your DMs! 📩” is always true. If their DM can’t be sent, no public reply is posted.
Each person gets one public reply per post, on their first comment.
What it says#
Each reply can be up to 280 characters. Zetrr rotates through your set, so neighbouring replies don’t all read the same.
The public reply never carries your link. The link goes privately, in the DM.
If the comment is itself a reply inside someone else’s thread, Instagram places your reply in that thread, exactly as written.
Stop public replies after#
This is your own count for this automation. Once that many public replies have gone out, the automation stops replying publicly. Your DM still goes to everyone who comments.
Reply by hand instead#
To write a personal reply to a single comment, use Priority Comments. See Priority Comments: the comments that need you.
