Get started
- Which Instagram accounts work with Automation?Automation works with an Instagram professional account: a Creator or a Business account. You connect it through Instagram’s official login, so Zetrr never asks for your password, and you don’t need a Facebook Page. A personal account has to be switched to Creator or Business first.
- Connect your Instagram accountTo connect Instagram, open Zetrr Automation, select Continue with Instagram, sign in on Instagram’s own login page and allow the permissions. Instagram sends you back to Zetrr, connected and ready for your first automation. Zetrr never sees your password.
- Create a comment-to-DM automationIn Automations, select New automation and choose DM from comments. Pick your posts, add a trigger word such as LINK, write the DM and add your link, then select Create automation. It goes live straight away and DMs everyone whose comment matches.
- Choose the keywords that trigger a replyTrigger words are the keywords that decide which comments or messages get your reply. Add up to 20, each up to 80 characters. Smart matching is on by default and also catches typos and stylings like “linkk” or “LINK!!!”. Turn on Any comment to answer every comment instead.
Automations
- Reply automatically to story repliesCreate an automation with the DM from story replies template, or choose Story reply under What starts it?. When someone replies to one of your stories, Zetrr sends your DM in that conversation. Leave Any message on to answer every reply, or add trigger words to answer only some.
- Reply automatically to DMsUse the Reply to incoming DMs template, or choose Keyword in DM under What starts it?. Add at least one trigger word and write your reply. Whenever someone sends you a DM that matches, Zetrr sends your reply automatically in the same conversation. DM automations always need a trigger word, so they never answer every message.
- Ask people to follow before they get the linkTurn on Ask to follow first in a comment automation. Zetrr checks with Instagram whether the commenter follows you. Followers get your link straight away; everyone else first gets a “follow me first” message with Visit Profile and I’m following buttons, and the link arrives only once Instagram confirms the follow.
- Collect emails and phone numbers in DMsTurn on Collect email or phone in an automation and choose Email or Phone number. People first get your ask instead of the link. When they reply with a usable email or number, it’s saved to Leads and the link goes out at once. After three unusable answers, the link is sent anyway.
- Reply publicly to comments as wellTurn on Public comment reply in a comment automation and Zetrr will also reply publicly with a short message under each matching comment, once that person’s DM has been accepted. The link always stays in the DM. Add up to six replies to rotate, and choose when they stop with Stop public replies after.
- Send a follow-up messageTurn on Send a follow-up to send up to three timed messages after your first DM, each with text, a voice note or both. Instagram only allows them inside the 24-hour window the person opened, so on comment automations a follow-up needs an Opening message or Ask to follow first.
- Links in your DMs: buttons and Smart LinksAdd up to three link buttons under your DM. With Smart Links on, links to apps such as Amazon, Flipkart and YouTube become a short zetrr.com link that opens the app, keeping your affiliate tags, and other web links get a source tag so your website analytics can count the visits.
Inbox and results
- Priority Comments: the comments that need youPriority Comments gathers the comments on your posts that deserve a personal reply, such as questions, leads, support requests and collab offers. It filters out emoji-only comments, generic link requests and comments your automations already answered. Reply publicly, mark comments resolved or dismiss them, all in one place.
- The Collabs tab: brand-deal enquiriesCollabs picks out brand deal enquiries: the Instagram DMs that read like a brand, agency or collaboration offer. It lists them in one place, so they don’t sink under fan messages. It never replies for you: open the conversation in Instagram, then mark the person Reached out, or hide messages that aren’t collabs.
- Read your Automation resultsYour Automation results start on the Dashboard, which shows the last 7 days at a glance: DMs sent, genuine comments, contacts collected and DM open rate. Analytics goes deeper over 7, 14 or 30 days, with response rate, time to send and followers gained, and Message History lists every message Instagram accepted.
Safety and fixes
- How Zetrr keeps your Instagram account safeZetrr keeps your Instagram account safe by connecting through Instagram’s official login as a verified Meta Tech Provider, and it never asks for your password. It only messages people who commented, replied to your story or messaged you first, spreads sending through the hour under the limit Meta documents, and stops at once if Instagram signals a limit.
- Why a DM wasn’t sent, and what to doWhen a DM wasn’t sent, most often the comment didn’t match your trigger words, the person already got a DM on that post, the automation was paused, or Instagram’s 7-day reply window had passed. Check Message History first: it lists every message Instagram accepted. Then work through the reasons below.
- Reconnect Instagram after the connection is lostWhen Instagram ends Zetrr’s access, Automation shows Reconnect your Instagram and pauses your automations. Select Reconnect Instagram and sign in with the same account. Your automations, history and leads are saved, and they resume by themselves once you’re back.
- Pause, stop or disconnect AutomationPause one automation from its ⋯ menu: it starts no new conversations, while people already in one still get their next steps. Delete stops everything for that automation. To stop all of Automation, the workspace owner can Disconnect in Settings, which keeps your data, or delete the connection and its data for good.
